Below-form Riga lose unbeaten home record

RIGA lost their unbeaten home record when they went down to top-of-the-table KS Gryf in National Division II match at Rugby Sports Centre.

Riga took the first set 15-10, with Branis and Warman playing well.

K.S. Gryf kept tip a constant barrage of attack in the second set and won 15-9. With K.S. Gryf still in command, and Riga lacking effort, the next set was again K.S. Gryf's - 15-4.

In the fourth set the Coventry side showed more determination and, with Vedat in good form, Riga took the set 15-10.

K.S. Gryf were quick to capitalise on Riga's poor start in the final set as the teams turned round with the Slough side leading 8-1. Riga could not hold K.S. Gryf n the final run-in and the game ,went to K.S. Gryf with. a 15-4 win in the fifth set.

Riga travel to London next week to play Division 1 side Putney in the Senior KO Cup.
