Riga stay unbeaten

RIGA volleyball team retained their unbeaten home record when they gained revenge over Leeds Polytechnic in an exciting National League Division II game.

Although Riga raced to an early lead, Leeds, with farmer England player Vie Clarkson in top form, won the first set 15-12. Despite some great work from Vedat, Riga also lost the second 15-13 but they hit back to take the third 15-13 with Branis and Murnieks constantly beating the Leeds defence.

Warman and Clarke dominated the fourth for Riga to win 15-4 and in a thrilling finish Riga clinched the match with a 15-11 victory.

In the West Midland League, Riga ran out 3-2 winners against Aston University.
