Polonia fought with determination to get back, taking the second set 15-9. But the Coventry side soon found a more powerful approach and controlled the next set to win 15-3.
With the game at their mercy and 11-2 in the lead in the fourth set, Riga suddenly stumbled and saw their lead fall point by point to be 14-12 down. Only good fortune saw the set eventually fall to Riga 16-14.
