| Riga open their 1999 National League Division One account with
two matches at the St. Nicholas Park Leisure Centre, Warwick, at the weekend.
Saturday brings a visit from Birmingham (6pm) and on Sunday (1pm) Riva will take on champions-elect Malory. Both games will be tough but Riga will be looking to extend a recent good run with at least one victory. Birmingham are proving the surprise team of the season and they will be all out to overturn a 3-2 home defeat against Riga earlier in the campaign. Malory have already handed out a 3-0 drubbing to Riga but Warwick optimism remains high. "What a way to start the New Year,'' said Riga skipper Tom Young. "If we do the double over Brum and put the wind up Malory I will be a happy man." |
