A series of encouraging Summer tournament performances has given Riga a buoyant optimism for the new season and this weekend will gauge the strength of that feeling.
Riga captain Tom Young said: "I think we're stronger going into this season than last and so Saturday should see us come out on top".
Riga's women side
make their debut in National League Division Two at St Nicholas Park Leisure
Centre on Sunday at 2pm.
Their first opponents will be Hawks, an RAF based team.
