Kees De Hoogh

Outside

Joined mid way through the 2000/01 season. He continues to be one of the best outsider hitters in the club. Can be heard from time to time offering words of encouragement in his native Dutch tongue!

Phil just can't give the game up and can be seen in Riga team photos as far back 1984/85. Although a recent injury obtained at training did make him question his involvement when his drinking hand was impaired!

John Gilling

Middle

Having been with the club for at least 14 seasons, John had clearly not played enough volleyball in the last couple of seasons so been heading to the beaches of the UK. Finishing 10th in 2006 and 5th in 2007 VEBT male rankings.

Clearly M1 training sessions weren't alleviating the frustrations enough, Tom has come out of retirement to help M2 on their return to NVL Div 2.

Riga's newest international. Gained his first England cap in the Dec 05 series against Scotland. His continuing involvement with the England squad has even prompted him to buy his first house in Banbury to avoid sleeping on the squash court floors of Upper Heyford!

Our second antipodean import in 2005/06, 'Kiwi' Chris Anderson has assured us that things will only get better now that the team plays in all black.

Joined Riga for the 2003/04 season, helping M2 to win Div 3E whilst also making guest appearances for the first team. Now a regular in the first team he has also been involved with the England squad for last 18 months.

Luca Molinari

Another player who likes to encourage in his native tongue, albeit this time Italian. Luca was also part of the M2 team that won Div 3E in 2004, as well as Riga's recent KO Cup final teams.

Affectionately know as 'Giz', it's a Kiwi thing apparently! Matt has recently begun working down in Kent buts still hopes to play whenever possible.
