With three wins under their belt Leeds Carnegie were looking to make it four as they faced a Coventry and
Warwick Riga side who have yet to win a match in the Super 8s this season.

The opening set saw both teams come out fighting but with some excellent volleyball from Carnegie they were able
to control the set to win 25-18. Carnegie were able to express themselves with some great hitting from Callum
Green and Roland Herczeg.

Riga took an early lead in the second set with Carnegie making several concentration errors which gave the away
team the advantage. A Time-Out was called and Leeds came back onto court looking to side out and gain a run of
points. Some great rallies ensued with Carnegie coming out on top again to take the set 25-18.

With the start of set three Riga showed that they were looking to fight to level the match. A mixture of good hitting
from Kees De Hoogh and errors from Leeds Carnegie saw Riga take a convincing lead into both Technical Time-
Outs at 8 and 16 points. With this advantage Coventry took the set 25-17.

The fourth and what turned out to be the final set mirrored the previous set but with Carnegie winning 25-17. After
dropping a set, Leeds regained momentum in the game with some impressive hitting from Atilla Berndt and great
defensive pick-ups from Libero Tamas Feher. Coventry struggled to contain the powerful serves and attacks from
Carnegie which resulted in the match finishing three sets to one.

Leeds Carnegie Coach Simon Loftus: commented” The level of volleyball was excellent today but we need to
maintain focus so that concentration levels do not drop.”
