Sunday 28th of September Coventry and Warwick Riga men's second team had their first two games of the season. Riga's first game was against City of Bristol 2. The team were determined but Bristol proved strong and Riga lost 3-0. However, the team did improve with a higher score in each set. The set scores were -1st 12-25, 2nd 18-25 and 3rd 20-25. Matt was duly awarded the Man of the Match award for the first game.
The second match was our best performance against Wiltshire Mavericks, Riga took the first set 25-20. After the strong start from Riga, Mavericks pulled back and Riga lost the next three setsl. The scores were - 2nd 18-25, 3rd 22-25 and the 4th 23-25. Riga put in a great fight through the whole game with good hitting, blocking was good and great pick ups from the back court from everyone. Another great performance from Matt saw him gain his second man of the match this season.
The team's next game will be on the 14th October against Bridgend and Riga will be raring to go and looking for a first win of many this season!
