Riga's women's team did their chances of survival a power of good with victory in their National League Division Two match against bottom of the table Hawks. Captain Lynette Purkis and Dawn Woolmer were outstanding as the women recorded not only a three - nil clean sweep but also the double over their fellow strugglers. "We're not out of the wood yet but defeat would have been curtains for us" said coach Martin Warman afterwards. "We played well today, just when it matters. We've now got to build on that if we are to survive."
