Riga I dispense of Solent in double-quick time

Prosport NVL Division Two, 14th March 2004
Solent Ladies 0 Warwick Riga II 3 (10-25 14-25 17-25)

It was a confident display of Volleyball against near-bottom of the table Solent who look to be heading for the play offs. The match game Tom Young the opportunity to mix things around although everyone's time on court was limited as the game was over in less than 50 minutes.
Solent had no reply to Riga's hard serving, in particular Yaprak's blistering top spin juggenauts. When they did manage to pass the ball their attack was far too weak to pose Riga any problems. Michelle Peryer dominated the net with her usual superb blocking and Gulshan had an excellent all round game, probably her best perfomance this season.

Gulshan: best performance of season
At no point were Riga under any pressure, dispensing of struggling Solent 10, 14 and 17. So one more down, two to go in Riga's quest for promotion - its nearly in the bag! But Young isn't complacent and doesn't want to risk any banana skins at this crucial stage in the season. Devon next up who caused Riga all sorts of problems in their first match of the season but the home side have come a long way since then and the opposition are apparently missing some key players, so, again, Riga should be confident of another victory.
The Devon match starts at 2.30 pm on Saturday 20th March at St Nicholas Park LC, Warwick.
