Riga Ladies virtually secured their place in next season's national League Division Two with a comprehensive disposal of Tameside on Sunday at the St. Nicholas Park Leisure Centre, Warwick. Emma Wood took the starring role as Warwick rolled out a 25 - 21, 25 - 12, 25 - 21 victory. "It was another great performance form the team. We never really looked in trouble from the start and the second set was just superb," said coach Martin Warman afterwards. The Ladies have now finished in ninth place, outside the automatic relegation zone. Whether they now face a play-off match is in the hands of the sport's governing body, English Volleyball Association. "With how things are at the moment, I don't think they'll be a play-off, but if there is, we'll be ready for it," said a beaming skipper Lynette Purkis.
