Riga's Women's team did their chances of survival in National League Division Two a power of good with a memorable three-two win over Thames Valley in Bracknell on Sunday. In a see-saw game, Jayne Warman was the inspiration behind the Riga's fourth victory this season with a superb serving run in the fifth set to take her side from 8 each to a 15 - 8 close out. "Just the tonic we need at this time of the season," was captain Lynette Purkis' view later. However the girls must repeat the performance in a six-pointer next Sunday when they visit Southampton to play Solent. Victory will take them out of the relegation zone for the first time this season and the pressure will be on. "This is one to pull all the stops out," says Purkis.
