Riga Ladies 2 faced old rivals Cleobury on Sunday and once again , this was a case of what might have been. We lost the match 3-0 , but, as with the Cambridge match, we raced into good leads in both the first and second set. We got to 23-20 by playing some of our best volleyball of the season, and then we couldn't quite get the final 2 points to clinch the set. Then, exactly the same thing happened in the second set - Cleobury were clearly rattled by the Riga performance - we pulled away to get to 23-20 and then couldn't close out the set.

The 3rd set went to Cleobury to leave Riga contemplating 'What might have been'. Riga now face a classic 6 pointer next weekend - away to Sheffield who are also struggling to find their first win in Div 2. So, the team are even more determined to turn all the recent near misses into winning performances and get that all important first win. We're certainly improving with every game so watch this space for next Sunday's result.
