Riga Ladies faced Sheffield on Sunday with both teams looking to record their first win of the season. As normal, the team hit some real high spots by playing some excellent stuff i.e. we took the second set 25-7 with Penny single handedly serving the opposition out of sight. But, we couldn't keep the momentum going and eventually lost the match by 3 sets to 1. A special mention to Elaine who did a rather spectacular block against us ( ratbag ) but then was good enough to lend Sarah her kneepads - pretty important for this player who can't play the ball standing up.

So, time for the team to do some serious regrouping, up the level of determination and take on a more ruthless side. We have a good break before our next game and hopefully, the next match update will have some better news to report.
